The greens we almost forgot...

Our heirloom greens story began with a story. Poojaramma, a farmer in her seventies, visited our farm and spoke of a time when greens weren't sown in neat rows — they were gathered. From the edges of fields, the banks of streams, the wild places at the margins of every village. She named varieties not commonly heard of today: chilakarive, honagone, paali, bhumi amla. We listened, then began the long work of finding them again.

What followed was careful research — identifying each green, sourcing and developing seeds, learning how they grew and how they tasted. Many, we discovered, hold a quiet place in Ayurveda, valued for centuries as food that nourishes and food that heals. Our heirloom greens mix is the result: a handful of nearly forgotten leaves, brought back to the kitchen. Food as medicine, in the oldest, truest sense.
